180 years in business, elegance that has passed down through the generations transcending time

Around the beginning of the 19th century, there was a young man, handsome aesthete, who loved women, the polite society and life’s pleasures to whom he dedicated his heart to.
Here’s now the history of the Dandy Alfred d’Orsay. Son to a count and a baroness, this elegant figure lived between London and Paris. He was a frequent guest to the elite of his time: Lawrence, Napoleon III, Dickens, Vigny, Doré up to Lamartine. The latter enjoyed calling Alfred “l’archange du dandysme” (the Dandyism’s archangel) due to his excellent taste and his eye for details.

The Count d’Orsay painted, sculptured and created for him and others, and above all for women…As soon as he met Marguerite he fell deeply in love with her at first sight. She discovered his heart and simply melted it! Because of her he was able to spread his wings; she fired his imagination and inspired him. Unfortunately their romance proofed to be difficult, the beauty was wife to another man who in addition, was a very close friend to our dear Dandy (even through the time passed in favor of our lovers and allowed them to show their love in broad daylight later on). Faced with this almost impossible love story our artist decided to express his feelings through a new talent, the creation of fragrances. Hence he imagined a beautiful and above all truly original perfume for Marguerite, the perfume with an “Etiquette Bleue” (Blue Etiquette). From that day onwards, noticing the success of this first essence and inspired by his sweet muse our friend created a number of perfumes. So was the Maison de Parfum born, that to this day bears his name: d’Orsay.
Over the course of time the Maison, following his creator’s example, never stopped to charm his contemporaries by amazing them with always the most original, subtle an elegant fragrances.
Etiquette Bleue, Belle de jour, Bonjour, Divine, Intoxication, Le Dandy, Leurs âmes, Poésie, Tilleul, Voulez-Vous, Arôme 3, Chevalier d’Orsay, …are only a few of the creations that have marked the perfume universe and the olfactive memories with a timeless imprint.
In 2007, the young Marie Huet, deeply inspired by both this mythical house whose fragrances reminded her of her own childhood, and the beauty of its creator, decided to breathe new life into it. With a blow of her magical pencil she imagined a new future for it…
