From Portugal, precious soaps called the scent of jewelry, a product of 120 years of tradition that has passed down through the generations

In 1887 when soaps and perfumes were only within reach of the wealthiest social classes, and were withdrawn from the Portuguese society’s daily life, Ferdinand Claus and Georges Ph. Schweder showed their enterprising spirit and established the first national soap and perfumes factory. And because of their high quality, they became very popular. Their popularity was so vast that the company was honored with the visit of the then King of Portugal, D. Manuel II.

With a global business vision and in a clear strategy to differentiate the brand’s products, in 1953 Ach Brito adds to its facilities a lithography, taking control of the entire production process.

In 2002, the beginning of the new millennium, Claus Porto began a new way of being and of exploring the international markets. Aware of the markets’ new wants and needs, the brand invests on a bold internationalization strategy, aiming to conquer new markets thanks to its exclusivity. This new positioning leads to a meticulous selection of the best decoration and design shops around the world, placing Claus Porto’s offer at a very high level of luxury.
